Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
Alaina Gair is a board certified and licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Kitchener, Ontario. Alaina grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia and completed a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Dalhousie University in 2006. Traveling throughout Europe and South East Asia, she became increasingly passionate about the importance of patient-centered systems and natural approaches to healthcare. In 2009 she moved to Toronto to complete the Naturopathic Doctor program through the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She focuses on clinical nutrition, preventative medicine and emotional well being to address patient concerns. She believes it is important for patients to take control of their health and treat the underlying causes of their symptoms. She has treated patients with a wide range of conditions, and has a particular interest in naturopathic support of neurological, thyroid and cancer.
Alaina has a special interest in adjunctive cancer care. She works to support patients before, during and after conventional care and strives to improve quality of life for patients undergoing surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. She is passionate about cancer treatment support and helping patients and their families.
Alaina believes it is important to “practice what you preach” and maintains an active lifestyle and nutritious diet. She makes a point of trying her own suggestions and enjoys discussing the struggles and benefits of her lifestyle recommendations with patients.
