Registered Social Worker

Laura is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.  She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Guelph and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in mental health and a collaborative program in addiction studies.

Laura comes to Sage Naturopathic Clinic with experience helping individuals, couples, and families who are impacted by mental health, addictions and trauma. She also works therapeutically with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem/body image, relationship and physical health concerns.

Laura is an authentic and compassionate therapist that operates from an emotion-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspective. She has experience employing a variety of clinical approaches, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy and solution-focused therapy, but ultimately believes that you are the expert of your own life and will adapt her approach to fit the needs of the client.

Laura’s daily practice is inspired by the work of Dr. Brene Brown in that she believes an individual’s healing begins by learning to accept themselves for who they are and embracing their imperfections.

Many Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and extended health care plans will cover services rendered by a Registered Social Worker.
