The Reality of Iron Deficiency

Iron Deficiency Is More Common Than You Think

The Hidden Struggle

1 in 4 women of reproductive age are estimated to have iron deficiency, often related to menstruation, pregnancy, or postpartum.

Protecting Future Health

Up to 70% of high-risk individuals (e.g., those with heavy menstruation or bleeding disorders) may go undiagnosed.

38%

38% of women age 15-54 have low ferritin (iron stores)

30ug

Ferritin levels below 30ug/L are now considered indicators of deficiency

Iron deficiency is common, but it doesn’t have to be your normal. We can help restore your levels and your quality of life.

Who Might Benefit from Iron Infusions?

Integrative care to restore your energy, clarity, and vitality

What is IV Iron Infusion?

Iron is an essential mineral your body needs to make healthy red blood cells. When iron levels are too low, it can cause anemia, fatigue, shortness of breath, brain fog, and reduced quality of life.

IV (intravenous) iron therapy delivers iron directly into your bloodstream through a small vein in your arm. This allows for faster absorption and more effective replenishment compared to oral iron supplements, which can sometimes cause stomach upset or take months to restore iron levels.

Who Might Benefit From IV Iron? IV iron is often recommended for patients who:

  • Have low iron or iron deficiency anemia confirmed by bloodwork.
  • Cannot tolerate oral iron due to side effects (constipation, nausea, abdominal pain).
  • Have not seen improvement with oral iron therapy.
  • Have conditions that reduce iron absorption (e.g., celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastric bypass surgery).
  • Need iron replenishment more quickly (e.g., before surgery, during pregnancy, or with severe anemia).

Take The First Step Today

Tired of feeling tired? Let’s find out if iron infusion therapy is right for you.

Our Process

Our Step-by-Step Process to an Iron Infusion, from Inquiry to IV.

A clear, guided experience so you know exactly what to expect.

01

Book Your Free IV Iron Prescreen and Discovery Call

Schedule a 15 minute IV Iron Prescreen with one of our designated practitioners who will screen you for eligibility and walk you through the process so that you feel confident about the next steps. If eligible, we will book you with our designated Nurse Practitioner and send you a requisition for blood work to complete before your appointment with them.

We accept referrals and delegations from medical professionals (MD/NP); if you’ve been assessed and given a prescription already by your practitioner, you could bypass the Nurse Practitioner appointment (Step 2) and go straight to your iron infusion. This would be discussed during your 15 minute IV Iron Prescreen.

02

Blood Work & Assessment

You’ll complete your blood work at least 3-4 days prior to your appointment with the Nurse Practitioner. If your labs indicate you’re eligible for an iron infusion, you’ll meet with the NP to discuss the assessment of your iron panel and get a prescription for your iron infusion. You can fill the iron prescription at your local pharmacy.

03

Your Iron Infusion

If IV iron is appropriate for you, we’ll schedule your infusion at one of our clinics with our IV iron specialists. Treatment takes at least two hours.

04

Follow-Up & Ongoing Support

About four weeks after your infusion, you will complete blood work again to assess your iron levels. From there, you’ll work with the Nurse Practitioner and/or Naturopathic Doctor to decide frequency and other support for your iron levels.
