What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a safe, drug free, non-invasive method of training that teaches your brain to be efficient and effective. The electricity generated by the Central Nervous System processing can be detected by sensors placed on the scalp and displayed on a monitor in real time. With specially designed computer software, information about the performance and behaviour of the brain is then presented to the individual via visual and auditory perception. The information enables the brain to improve processing capacity, efficiency and resilience.

How can Neurofeedback help me?

Neurofeedback is effective in resolving concerns in five general categories:

  1. Wellness and personal growth
Wellness is a greater awareness of the connection between the state of mind and physical health. Individuals tend to explore their own consciousness and discover deeper meaning.
  2. Enhanced academic performance
NeurOptimal® is a phenomenal learning tool. It helps with anxiety, focus, engagement and significantly increases attention span. Students of all ages learn more quickly and effectively. They retain more of what they read or study. Teachers and parents often notice positive changes in performance and behaviour in just a few sessions.
  3. Specific cognitive, emotional and physical challenges
NeurOptimal® is hugely beneficial for depression and anxiety. A research conference in Palm Springs documented positive outcome for ADD, ADHD and PTSD disorders, Alzheimers disease, autism, sleep disorders and cognitive dysfunction from chemo-therapy. A recent Norwegian study found Neurofeedback training to be just as effective as Ritalin for children with ADHD.
  4. The aging brain
Memory loss, loss of neural connections, loss of brain plasticity and overall thinning of the cortex are well-documented phenomena that may negatively impact our emotional and physical well-being. NeurOptimal training can help slow and even reverse the detrimental effects of brain aging.
  5. Optimal performance – Athletes
“If the performance of world-class athletes are separated by hundredths of a second, more strength or flexibility will not secure victory, nor will extra hours of practise. It is tapping into the potential of the mind and its intricate connection to the body that will provide the elusive edge” – Rael Isacowitz.

What are the benefits of Neurofeedback?

  • Efficient information processing
  • Less anxiety and stress
  • Less reactivity
  • Improved focus, memory, calmness, awareness, self-control, self-confidence, relationships, mood stability etc.
  • Increased energy, sleep and emotional well-being.

What happens during a Neurofeedback session?

Neurofeedback training is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience that typically lasts between 35 to 45 minutes per session.

At the start of your session a certified NeurOptimal® trainer will discuss your goals, progress and current condition before attaching five tiny sensors to your scalp and ears.

Once training starts, you don’t have to do anything but sit calmly and listen to soothing music. You can take a nap, read a book or watch colourful images morph across a computer screen.

While training, you will notice occasional brief interruptions or skips in the music. That is the special NeurOptimal® signal that gently encourages your brain to reset, rebalance and optimize itself.

At the end of the session you will most likely feel calmer, happier and mentally more clear.
