Acupuncture

Location: Kitchener Cambridge

Acupuncture improves the body’s function and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific areas known as acupuncture points. The most common method used to stimulate these points is the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin. Pressure, heat, or electrical stimulation may further enhance the effects. Other stimulation techniques include: tui na massage, moxibustion or heat therapy, cupping, and gua sha. Acupuncture therapy is used to improve qi or energy flow within aid the body’s natural healing response. Acupuncture has an effect on the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems, cardiovascular system, and digestive system. By stimulating these various systems, acupuncture may help to resolve pain, and improve sleep, digestive function, and sense of well-being on a mental, emotional and physical level.

What is Acupuncture?

Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture is a complex system of healing rooted in thousands of years of practice. It has gained popularity in the West due to it’s effectiveness in treating a wide range of ailments.

During a treatment acupuncture points will be stimulated using single use needles, moxibustion and other modalities to activate qi or energy. This energy travels along pathways throughout the body known as meridians or channels. When these energy channels are blocked, qi cannot flow freely, which causes physical, mental and emotional health imbalances. Acupuncture assists the body in healing by opening these meridians and stimulating the free flow of qi to encourage balance and health within the body.

Acupuncture promotes natural healing by restoring balance to the body. It may be used to manage pain, enhance immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well being. Cosmetic Acupuncture
Looking for a safe and less invasive way to look and feel your best?

Facial rejuvenation (aka Cosmetic Acupuncture) is a safe treatment using thin acupuncture needles over the face and body to help with anti-aging. The treatment addresses the health of your skin both externally and internally to enhance the appearance of your skin.

Facial rejuvenation works to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, blood circulation and improves muscle tightness. The treatment targets the underlying processes of aging rather than masking the signs superficially.

Benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture

  • Provides radiance and glow to your skin’s complexion
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Brightens the appearance of eyes
  • Helps to reduce the appearance of dark circles under eyes
  • Improves muscle tone of the skin
  • Boosts circulation of the skin
  • Provides moisture for dry skin
  • Increases the production of collagen

Treatment:

  • Starts off with a thorough analysis of the face and questions based on internal health
  • The treatment starts off with jade roller massage used to cool the face and balance the complexion
  • Next, acupuncture treatment will commence
  • The treatment will end with another jade roller massage and facial massage

To obtain the best results a treatment protocol consists of 8 sessions, once weekly in order to maintain optimal results. You may notice results within the first few treatments. The results will last longer the more frequent the treatment is done. Following this course of 8 sessions it is recommended to complete a treatment every month or bi-monthly thereafter.
